LOS ANGELES, CA–(Marketwired – Apr 2, 2015) – Vicente Capital Partners (VCP) announced today its sale of iBwave Solutions, Inc. to Corning Incorporated (NYSE: GLW).
The transaction generated a 2.5x return for the fund and its co-investors over an 18 month investment period. VCP led the investment in iBwave in 2013 and was accompanied by Farol Asset Management LP, a direct investment arm of New York State Common Retirement Fund which is also one of the larger investors in VCP’s Growth Equity Fund.
“Corning’s acquisition is a great outcome for Vicente Capital’s Growth Equity Fund and its limited partners. It was our largest investment by far and will return a significant portion of our overall fund,” stated Klaus Koch, Managing Partner of Vicente Capital. “We were fortunate to work with a stellar management team, led by Mario Bouchard. The team was able to rapidly expand iBwave’s strong position in the in-building wireless network design market. We are highly confident that iBwave’s customers and employees will be well-served by this acquisition, given Corning’s resources,” added Mr. Koch.
Mario Bouchard, CEO of iBwave Solutions, said, “We benefited greatly from the support of VCP, as our company continued to experience very rapid revenue and profitability growth since VCP’s investment. Klaus and his partners have provided real value-added guidance and direction, while giving management the authority and flexibility to operate our day-to-day business effectively. Their assistance with business strategy and board support has been a critical factor in our ability to increase the value of iBwave for our shareholders.”
