PRESS RELEASE

SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Vector Capital, a leading private equity firm specializing in transformational investments in established technology businesses, welcomes Andrew Jacobson as a Managing Director. Jacobson joins Vector having spent 13 years in specialty finance and 18 years as an operating executive in the publishing and information industries. He was most recently a Managing Director at MCG Capital Corporation, a publicly traded business development company.
Jacobson will be responsible for developing direct lending opportunities within Vector’s credit strategies. At MCG Capital, he ran debt and equity transactions in media, technology and other industries, originating direct investments, overseeing portfolio companies and managing exits. He also oversaw the formation and running of MCG’s subsidiary SBIC fund (Solutions Capital I, LP). While at MCG and Solutions Capital, he worked with over 45 lower middle market portfolio companies.
Prior to that, Jacobson was an executive in the publishing/information industry, serving as President of Post Newsweek TechMedia Group (a business/technology publishing unit of The Washington Post Company) and as a senior executive in several other firms. Earlier in his career, Andrew founded his own start-up telecom/technology publishing company. Andy received a B.A. in Public Policy Studies from Duke University.
“Vector Capital provides a great platform for direct lending to small and mid-sized technology companies,” said Jacobson. “The firm has tremendous contacts and resources in the technology industry and has a strong commitment to expanding beyond its existing private equity and debt funds. I look forward to helping Vector in that effort.”
“We are delighted to welcome Andy to Vector,” stated Alex Slusky, Vector’s Chief Investment Officer. “He has an extensive background in middle market lending and fund formation and we are eager to have him focus his knowledge and energy on Vector’s direct lending credit efforts.”
