Vestar Staffs Up

Evan Marks and Victor Cohen have joined Vestar Capital Partners as a principal and vice president, respectively, in the firm's Vestar Resources group. Marks previously was a senior VP of marketing for WebMD, while Cohen previously was with Union Square Partners/Capital Z.

Vestar Capital Partners, a leading international private equity firm, announced today the addition of Evan Marks and Victor Cohen. Marks joins the Vestar Resources team as a Principal, and Cohen will serve as a Vice President. Both will be based in Vestar's New York office.

Marks brings to Vestar 23 years of strategic, analytical and operational planning experience in healthcare and health media. This includes business development and marketing in the areas of managed care, PBM, health data management, outcomes measurement, healthcare technology and informatics, and online information and education for consumers and providers of care. Over the past year, Marks has been advising Vestar Capital Partners on various transactions and healthcare portfolio investments. He previously served as Senior Vice President of marketing at WebMD Health Corporation, and holds a B.S. in finance from New York University.

Cohen brings more than 10 years of experience in financial services to Vestar. He joins from Capital Z / Union Square Partners, a private equity firm focused on the financial services industry, and previously spent five years with Assurant Inc., a leading specialty insurance company. His areas of responsibility at Assurant included corporate development and M&A activities. Cohen has an M.B.A. from The Stern School of Business at New York University and received his undergraduate degree from Lehigh University.
