PRESS RELEASE
BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–VMTurbo, provider of the only software-defined control system for businesses running mission-critical applications on virtualized and cloud infrastructures, today announced that its Board of Directors appointed Benjamin Nye as CEO and Dr. Shmuel Kliger as president. This leadership team will accelerate the Company’s mission of providing top down software-defined control for application workloads in all virtualized data centers and hybrid clouds.
“Virtualization created the opportunity for profound new management capabilities that materially improve customers’ data center efficiency and agility,” said Nye. “VMTurbo delivers on those promised efficiencies, without the risk of resource contention and application downtime. Most of our nearly 500 customers achieve an ROI of less than a few months through VMTurbo’s real-time prescribed actions and fully automated management of their data centers.”
Nye and Kliger have been collaborating on the VMTurbo approach for the past several years. As CEO of VMTurbo, Nye leverages his strong track record of shepherding high-potential technology companies’ growth, including Network Intelligence, Archer Technologies, Solarwinds (NYSE: SWI), LinkedIn (NYSE: LNKD), dynaTrace and AppAssure among many others. Nye will be strongly supported by Kliger, who will direct the technology teams encompassing development, product strategy and management, customer success and customer support.
“My co-founders and I designed the VMTurbo solution to provide our customers with active control – not just monitoring,” said Kliger. “By providing active recommendations that are derived from analyzing application workloads and resource configuration in real-time, our solution averts resource contention, enables optimized workload placement – including public cloud bursting – and resource allocation while improving the efficiency of our customers’ virtual estates.”
“VMTurbo is an incredibly strategic company,” said VMTurbo Chairman Jack Sweeney. “Together, Ben, Shmuel and their team of more than 120 highly-engaged employees will deliver on the Company’s mission of enabling IT organizations to fully leverage virtual and cloud infrastructures, while achieving the lowest possible cost and the best possible quality of service delivery.”
Highland Capital Partners, Globespan Partners and Bain Capital Ventures are the investors behind VMTurbo. Nye will balance his new role at VMTurbo with his ongoing responsibilities as co-managing partner of Bain Capital Ventures.
