Waud Capital adds Lawler as principal to team

Waud Capital Partners has named Tim Lawler as principal of human capital. Previously, Lawler founded T4 Capital Talent, an executive search firm serving private equity funds and their portfolio companies.


Chicago, IL, January 4, 2017 – Waud Capital Partners (“Waud Capital” or “the Firm”), a leading growth-oriented lower middle-market private equity firm with $2.1 billion in assets under management, announces the appointment of Tim Lawler as Principal – Human Capital, effective immediately. Mr. Lawler will manage a dedicated team focused on identifying the leading executives in WCP’s target niches within its two industry verticals of Healthcare Services and Business and Technology Services. Efforts will focus on building partnerships with CEOs and Executive Chairmen to lead the Firm’s new platform investments.

Based in Chicago, Mr. Lawler and the dedicated team will also help build out the management teams in new platforms, provide strategic human capital support to existing portfolio companies and lead key elements of talent management within the Firm. The appointment of Mr. Lawler increases the Waud Capital team to 31 professionals across investments, operations, finance and operating/executive partners.

Mr. Lawler joins Waud Capital with more than 15 years of human capital advisory and talent management experience, largely within private equity. Previously, Mr. Lawler founded T4 Capital Talent, a human capital advisory and executive search firm serving private equity funds and their portfolio companies. He also served as Managing Director and Head of Talent Management for Highland Capital Management, where he focused on building management teams and improving portfolio company performance through leadership assessment, executive search, talent development and other human capital initiatives. Prior to Highland Capital, Mr. Lawler managed a boutique executive search firm in Chicago.

Mr. Lawler graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and received an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
