Webster Capital Management LLC acquired Conisus Inc., an Atlanta, Ga.-based provider of medical communication services. Webster completed the deal in partnership with Conisus’ management. Texas Capital Bank and BB&T Capital Partners provided debt financing for the deal. Goodwin Procter served as counsel for Webster.
Webster Capital announces, in partnership with company management, its acquisition Conisus Inc., an Atlanta-based provider of specialized medical communication services to the oncology pharmaceutical and biotechnology (“biopharmaceutical”) industry. Texas Capital Bank and BB&T Capital Partners provided debt financing for the transaction. Prestwick Partners served as exclusive advisor to sellers Progress Equity Partners; Goodwin Procter served as counsel for Webster.
Founded in 1999, Conisus offers innovative, scientific-oriented promotional marketing and education solutions to a diverse group of biopharmaceutical companies to assist in the promotion and education of oncology drugs and therapies. The firm will leverage its deep industry experience in the healthcare and business services markets to support Conisus. Webster is currently investing Webster Capital II, a $205 million fund which closed in 2007. Webster seeks to invest in businesses in the consumer, healthcare services and business to business sectors.
