White Deer appoints Meneely and Edwards as managing partners

Tom Edelman and Ben Guill, who founded White Deer in 2008, will continue as partners helping to oversee the firm and its investments.

White Deer Energy has named Jim Meneely and Joe Bob Edwards as managing partners. Tom Edelman and Ben Guill, who founded White Deer in 2008, will continue as partners helping to oversee the firm and its investments. Meneely and Edwards have assumed responsibility for White Deer’s day-to-day activities.

Prior to joining White Deer, Meneely was CEO of Gray Wireline Services. From 2003 to 2008, Meneely worked for Halliburton Company where he was a member of the executive leadership team responsible for mergers and acquisitions, capital planning and strategy development. Meneely joined White Deer in 2008 as a partner and member of the investment committee.

And before he joined White Deer, Edwards spent 13 years at First Reserve Corporation. There he was the head of First Reserve’s oilfield service and equipment investment team. Edwards joined White Deer in 2011 as a partner and a member of the investment committee.

Based in Houston and New York, White Deer is a middle-market private equity firm that invests in companies that support the energy, energy infrastructure and industrials sectors.
