William Bixby Leaving Riverside Co. for Trinity Hunt

William Bixby is joining Trinity Hunt Partners as a partner, effective December 1. He previously was with The Riverside Co., where he co-founded the firm’s Dallas office in 2001.

PRESS RELEASE

Trinity Hunt Partners, a leading private equity firm in the Southwest, today announced that William K. Bixby will be joining the firm as a Partner effective December 1, 2008. Bixby will assist the other Partners in sourcing, executing and managing fund investments.

“We are very pleased to welcome Will to Trinity Hunt,” said Dan Dross, a Partner at Trinity Hunt.  “His twenty years of experience in private equity will be an asset to the firm as we anticipate an increase in investment opportunities in the coming year with an expected decline in valuations.”

Bixby joins Trinity Hunt with previous experience at The Riverside Company, where he was a co-founding Partner of its Dallas office since 2001.  While there, Bixby was responsible for acquiring controlling ownership positions in private operating companies where he served as the chairman of the board of directors, acquired add-on acquisitions, facilitated operational improvements and successfully exited investments.  He also served on Riverside’s investment committee.

Prior to joining Riverside, Bixby was a Managing Director in the Merchant Banking Group of Banc One Capital Partners in Dallas where he served on its investment committee and built a successful portfolio of mezzanine and equity investments over seven years.  Prior to Banc One Capital Partners, Bixby worked for Citicorp Venture Capital and for Citicorp’s Leverage Capital Group where he focused on middle-market buyouts.

“Our selective investment approach over the past several years has enabled us to construct a portfolio of companies that are capable of weathering the economic downturn,” said Pete Stein, a Partner with Trinity Hunt.  “As a result, Trinity Hunt is well positioned to capitalize on the attractive investment climate in the coming year, and the addition of Will as a Partner will help us exploit this opportunity.”

Bixby holds a master’s of business administration degree from the University of Texas and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Washington University in St. Louis.  He has also been a CFA charterholder since 1997.
