Wyle Buys RS Info Systems

Wyle, an El Segundo, Calif.-based provider of tech and other services to military and civilian government agencies, has acquired RS Information Systems, a McLean, Va.-based federal systems integrator. No financial terms were disclosed. Wyle is a portfolio company of Littlejohn & Company.

Littlejohn & Co., a private investment firm, today announced that its portfolio company Wyle has completed the acquisition of RS Information Systems (RSIS) of McLean, VA, a premier federal systems integrator providing advanced services in information technology, systems engineering, telecommunications, scientific support and management consulting.

 

The acquisition of the privately held company increases Wyle's 2008 revenue projection to approximately $800 million and the number of employees to more than 4,200. RSIS serves a range of defense, civilian and science and engineering customers, including the U.S. Air Force, NOAA, NASA, FAA and DARPA.

 

“This acquisition significantly increases Wyle's federal information technology presence and further strengthens our presence in Washington, D.C.,” said George Melton, Wyle chairman, CEO and president. “RSIS is a tremendous complement to our three existing business units of Aerospace, Life Sciences and Test Engineering & Research.” RSIS will operate as a fourth business unit called Wyle Information Systems.
