PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS

Orion Energy Partners, a private equity firm focused on middle-market energy infrastructure, has named James Bender, Don Lucey and Matt Valentine to its newly formed senior advisory board. Bender is the former president and CEO of WPX Energy, Lucey is the former executive vice president and chief commercial officer of PBF Energy Inc, and Valentine is chief financial officer at Rimrock Midstream LLC.

Pantheon has named Ralph Guenther, Graeme Keenan and Alex Scott to partner for Europe. Guenther is a senior member of Pantheon’s European Client Services team, focusing on Germany, Austria and Switzerland; Graeme is Pantheon’s Chief Risk Officer; and Scott is a senior member of Pantheon’s European primary investment team and a member of the European Investment Committee. The promotions were part of 28 that Pantheon made worldwide.

PORTFOLIO COMPANIES

Burgaflex North America, which is backed by Blackford Capital, has appointed Erik Roeren as CEO. Previously, Roeren was the president and CEO of ATC Drivetrain LLC. Burgaflex makes coolant system tubes and hose assemblies for heavy trucks.

Shoes For Crews, a portfolio company of CCMP Capital, said Stuart Jenkins was named president, chief executive officer and chief innovation officer, effective Jan. 25. Matt Smith, Shoes For Crews’ founder and current CEO, will become chairman of the board of directors, while Stan Smith, founder and current chairman, will become chairman emeritus. Jenkins was previously with Deckers Outdoor Corp where he most recently served as senior vice president for innovation and product development.

Suba Seeds Company, which is owned by Paine & Partners LLC, has named André Goig to its board of directors. Recently, Goig worked at Syngenta as regional head of Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Suba Seeds is an Italian producer of specialty vegetable seeds.

SERVICE PROVIDERS

Evercore’s private funds group has added Yong Seok Lee to its Hong Kong team. Previously, Lee worked at Campbell Lutyens as a founding member of its Hong Kong office.

Law firm O’Melveny & Myers LLP has named partner Paul Scrivano as head of its global M&A and private equity practice. Scrivano has advised on more than 100 public company M&A transactions.

Law firm Cooley has named Steven Tonsfeldt as a partner to expand its global mergers and acquisitions practice. Previously, Tonsfeldt worked at O’Melveny & Myers as chair of the firm’s global M&A and private equity practice. Tonsfeldt will be based in the firm’s office in Palo Alto, California.

PROMOTIONS 

First Reserve has promoted seven of its staffers. Among those being promoted are James Berner, Adi Blum and Ryan Shockley, all of whom will become managing directors.
