Technology venture investor Alsop Louie Partners is raising $100 million toward a planned third fund, according to a securities filing.
The San Francisco-based firm raised its last fund, also about a $100 million vehicle, in 2009. The firm was founded in 2006 by general partners Stewart Alsop and Gilman Louie. Other partners include Bill Crowell, Bill Coleman, Jim Whims, Joe Addiego and Nancy Lee, according to the firm website.
Alsop Louie’s focus areas include cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, digital media, enterprise software and mobile.
The firm has had a number of exits in recent years. NetWitness, a developer of network monitoring tools, sold to EMC in 2011. Ribbit, a telephony software provider, sold to BT Corp. in 2008. Most recently, Elastic Intelligence, a provider of analytics applications for enterprise customers, sold to Intuit in June. Alsop Louie was an early stage investor in each of those companies.
