Venture-Backed Halogen Software Plans IPO

Ottawa-based Halogen Software Inc., a developer of employee performance and talent management applications, announced that the company has filed a preliminary prospectus in connection with its proposed initial public offering. Halogen has been backed in past by Canadian venture capital firms, and since July 2008 by the Baltimore, Maryland-based JMI Equity.


Halogen Software Inc. (“Halogen”), a leading provider of comprehensive software-as-a-service (“SaaS)” talent management solutions, announced today that it has filed a preliminary prospectus with the securities regulatory authorities in each of the provinces and territories of Canada in connection with a proposed initial public offering of its common shares. The offering is being co-led by Canaccord Genuity Corp. and Stifel Nicolaus Canada Inc., with the remaining syndicate of underwriters being Raymond James Ltd., Cantor Fitzgerald Canada Corporation and National Bank Financial Inc.

The preliminary prospectus is subject to completion or amendment. There will not be any sale or any acceptance of an offer to buy the common shares until a receipt for the final prospectus has been issued.
