CAI Capital Partners-backed CMT buys Paradigm Consultants

CMT Engineering Laboratories has acquired Paradigm Consultants, a Houston-based provider of construction material testing and inspection, geotechnical engineering services and litigation and forensic services. No financial terms were disclosed. CMT, a Salt Lake City, Utah-based civil and geotechnical engineering services company, is backed by CAI Capital Partners.

Vancouver, BC – January 6, 2022 – CAI Capital Partners (“CAI”) is pleased to announce that its portfolio company, CMT Engineering Laboratories (“CMT” or the “Company”), has acquired Paradigm Consultants, Inc. (“Paradigm”). Based in Houston, Texas, Paradigm is a leading provider of construction material testing and inspection, geotechnical engineering services, and litigation and forensic services in the South Texas area.

CMT and Paradigm share similar cultures and service offerings in overlapping geographies. CMT recently expanded into Texas organically and the partnership with Paradigm significantly bolsters the Company’s presence in the state with the addition of approximately 40 personnel. CMT will provide Paradigm with additional resources and infrastructure to assist in serving Paradigm’s high quality customer base.

Paradigm is led by Woody Vogt and Ray Meyer, who have retained an equity interest in the Company and will remain in their current roles at Paradigm.
