Hamilton Lane has appointed Mingchen Xia as principal on the fund investment team and Yen Li Chew as vice president in the business development group. The new hires will be based in Hong Kong and will further strengthen the firm’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region.
Hamilton Lane, a leading global private equity asset management firm, today announced the appointments of Mingchen Xia as Principal on the Fund Investment Team and Yen Li Chew as Vice President in the Business Development Group. The new hires will be based in Hong Kong and will further strengthen the firm’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region.

Mingchen brings to the firm extensive experience in investment management, as well as research and analysis, honed over years of working in leading financial institutions in Japan, including Tokio Marine Asset Management, Mitsubishi UFJ Securities and Mizuho Securities.
Prior to joining the Hamilton Lane team, Mingchen was most recently a Senior Fund Manager at Tokio Marine Asset Management, where he was responsible for private equity fund investment globally. Mingchen holds a Bachelor degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and an MBA in Finance from Hitotsubashi University. He is native Chinese and speaks fluent Japanese.
Yen Li has assumed the role of Vice President in the Business Development Group. She joins the firm from Oaktree Capital, where she was Vice President, Marketing and Client Relations. Previously, she worked for Morgan Stanley Asia, Pacific World Asset Management and KPMG. Yen Li received a Bachelor of Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. She is a native of Singapore and is fluent in Mandarin and English.
