Narrative Science Inc., whose software is designed to automatically generate news stories, industry reports, headlines and other editorial content, has raised $5.65 million in new financing, according to a regulatory filing. Roger Lee, a general partner with Battery Ventures is listed among the company’s directors. Narratives Sciences is based in Evanston, Illinois.

San Francisco-based Ensenda raised $4.2 million in new financing, according to a filing with the SEC. The company is backed by venture investors including Palo Alto, calif.-based firms Alloy Ventures and Bay Partners, and Baltimore-based QuestMark Partners. The money will be used for working capital.

UsingMiles Inc., whose web-based service is designed to help consumers manage loyalty programs, raised $2.7 million in new funding, according to an S.E.C. filing. The Greenwood Village, Colo.-based company’s technology is designed to automatically manage reward programs ranging from frequent flyer miles to hotel reward points.

Zero Motorcycles, a maker of electric motorcycles, raised $2 million in equity financing according to a filing with the S.E.C. Philippe Amouyal and Aflalo Guimaraes, both managing directors with New York-based Invus Private Equity, serve on the company’s board. Formed in 2008, the company is based in Scotts Valley, Calif., and recently announced plans to build a new manufacturing facility and more than double its current production.
