Didier Bench Joins Silver Lake Sumeru

Didier Bench, former CEO of Cartesis and iMediation, has joined Silver Lake Sumeru as a London-based advisor.

Silver Lake, the leader in private investments in technology, technology-enabled and related growth industries, announced that Didier Bench, former chief executive officer of Cartesis and iMediation, has become an advisor to Silver Lake Sumeru, the firm’s middle market investment fund.

Mr. Bench, based in London, has over 25 years of international leadership experience in the development of international technology companies and investment funds. He has worked in Milan, London and San Francisco, and has held senior management positions with several software companies, successfully turning them into major players in their global markets. Specifically, his experience includes roles as chief executive officer of Cartesis and iMediation, vice president and general manager of Netscape EMEA, as well as senior roles at the Paul Allen Group and MIPS Computer Systems. As an investor, Mr. Bench was formerly senior partner for CDP Technology Ventures, a Canadian private equity fund operating in North American and European markets.

Mr. Bench holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Paris VII University and a master’s degree in marketing and finance from Paris X University.

Mr. Bench joins Silver Lake Sumeru’s team of advisors, which includes Karen Richardson, former chief executive officer of E.piphany.
