Pine Brook funds new UK residential mortgage lender Belmont Green

Pine Brook has provided undisclosed financing to Belmont Green Finance Limited. UK-based Belmont Green is a new residential mortgage lender.

NEW YORK—January 19, 2016—Pine Brook, an investment firm focused on building businesses in the energy and financial services sectors, today announced it has led a Line of Equity financing arrangement for Belmont Green Finance Limited (“Belmont Green” or “the Company”). Belmont Green is a newly-formed company focused on creating a new residential lending business that will target under-served segments of the UK mortgage market.

Based in Egham, Surrey, England, Belmont Green will be led by industry veterans David Tweedy, who will serve as CEO, and Guy Batchelor, who will be Sales & Marketing Director. Tweedy, former Managing Director of Platform Home Loans, and Batchelor, former Managing Director, Corporate Business at Countrywide plc, will be joined by COO Lesley Sewell and CFO Will Howard Davies, both of whom bring significant industry experience to the Belmont Green team.
