Jean-Hugues Verdu has joined French buyout firm Activa Capital as chief operating officer. He previously was a Paris-based director with Alvarez & Marsal.
Activa Capital is a leading French mid-market private equity fund, specialising in corporate spin-offs and family firm transactions. It currently manages over €500 million and has €300 million of uncommitted capital for new investments. Its current portfolio consists of 8 businesses in the food, business services, retail and manufacturing sectors.
Jean-Hugues Verdu, 43, graduated from IEP Paris (Sciences Po) and holds a masters in
finance as well as a MBA from INSEAD. Jean-Hugues Verdu started his career at Marks & Spencer, and then worked at Valeo and NEC Electronics before joining family-held pharmaceutical group Innothera as Chief Financial Officer. Most recently he has been Director at consultants Alvarez & Marsal in Paris.
