Adams Street Partners, a private markets investment manager, has hired Justin Lawrence as a principal.
In his new role, Lawrence is joining a team led by former Oaktree Capital executives Bill Sacher and Shahab Rashid, both of whom co-launched Adam Street’s private credit strategy in January 2016.
Previously, Lawrence worked at Ares Management where he served as a vice president in the direct lending group. At Ares, Lawrence was in charge of providing debt financing to private equity-backed companies. He also played a major part in developing that firm’s asset-based lending platform.
Before Ares, Lawrence worked at MidOcean Partners where he served as an associate. And, early in his career, he was an analyst at Merrill Lynch‘s financial sponsors group.
According to the firm, Adams launched its investment program in 1972. Currently, it manages $30 billion in assets.
