Adobe's Brennan Joins Silver Lake

John Brennan has joined Silver Lake Sumeru, the middle-market investment unit of Silver Lake Partners, as a managing director. He previously was a senior vice president with Adobe Systems, responsible for the company's platform software business.

Silver Lake Sumeru, Silver Lake's middle-market investment group, announced that John Brennan, former Senior Vice President of Adobe Systems, has joined the firm as a Managing Director.

Brennan, 43, has more than 15 years of technology and investment experience and will be based in Silver Lake's Menlo Park office where he will have a full range of investment responsibilities for Silver Lake Sumeru.

Prior to joining Silver Lake Sumeru, Brennan held several senior leadership positions at Adobe Systems, most recently as the Senior Vice President responsible for Adobe's Platform Software business unit. Previously, Brennan led Adobe's corporate development function as well as the Creative Professional business unit. At Hewlett-Packard Company, he was Senior Vice President of SMB Segment Operations, where he was responsible for the sales and marketing of a $20 billion portfolio of products. In addition Brennan, directed the activities of the Procurve Networking business unit and led Hewlett-Packard's corporate development functions. Earlier in his career, Brennan spent 8 years working for Accenture in the firm's Electronics & High-Tech practice, and for Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. as a portfolio manager.

Brennan holds degrees from Yale University and the University of California, Berkeley.
