Carlyle Group-backed AlpInvest Partners rehired Vjerana Spajic, who joins as a vice president on the secondaries team. Spajic had been working at 17Capital as an investment director focused on preferred equity investments in Europe. She previously worked at AlpInvest from 2012 through 2015.
AlpInvest Partners, a wholly owned subsidiary of global alternative asset manager The Carlyle Group (NASDAQ: CG), today announced that Vjerana Spajic has rejoined AlpInvest Partners as a Vice President on its Secondary Investments team. Ms. Spajic will be based in London and will focus on the sourcing, diligence and execution of secondary investments with a particular emphasis on structured equity and preferred equity investments.
Ms. Spajic had previously worked for AlpInvest from 2012 through 2015, where she was a member of AlpInvest’s Secondary Investments Team based in Amsterdam.

Ms. Spajic was most recently an Investment Director at 17Capital, where she was responsible for investment origination and execution, focusing on preferred equity solutions in Europe. In 2017, Ms. Spajic was named to Secondaries Investor’s “Young Guns”, a list of leading young professionals in the secondary market. Prior to joining AlpInvest in 2012, Ms. Spajic started her career as an central bank economist. She received a BSc in Economics summa cum laude from Zagreb University and an MSc in International Finance from Amsterdam Business School.
