Altium Capital Expands M&A Practice

Altium Capital has expanded its M&A practice with debt advisory and financial restructuring services. Norbert Schmitz and Johannes Schmittat will be building up the new debt advisory and financial restructuring practice in Europe.

Norbert Schmitz (41) and Johannes Schmittat (34) have joined international investment bank Altium Capital as managing directors from October 1st. The experienced experts for financing and restructuring will build up Altium’s Debt Advisory and Financial Restructuring practice in Europe. The team will be based in Frankfurt; further hires are planned. Before joining Altium, Norbert Schmitz and Johannes Schmittat were both co-heads of the Debt Advisory/Restructuring practice at Corporate Finance advisory firm DC Advisory Partners.

Norbert Schmitz and Johannes Schmittat both possess extensive experience in financing and debt restructuring advisory. Recent clients and transactions include Hg Capital (Teufel), Sun European Partners (Britton Unterland), Gilde Buy Out Partners (Spandex), Deutsche Beteiligungs AG (Romaco) and DPE Deutsche Private Equity (Westfalia). Moreover, the team managed amongst others the financial restructurings of BorsodChem, Jost, Battenfeld- Cincinnati and Neumayer Tekfor.
Holding a degree in business administration, Norbert Schmitz previously worked for CIBC World Markets in London, The Royal Bank of Scotland and Rabobank International. Before he joined DC Advisory Partners, Johannes Schmittat obtained his doctorate in Corporate Finance & Capital Markets at the European Business School Oestrich-Winkel.
