Ann’s House Of Nuts To Switch PE Owners

Gryphon Investors is in talks to buy Ann’s House of Nuts Inc. from Olympus Partners, according to Buyouts.

Ann’s House of Nuts, founded in 1973, sells trail mixes and nuts under the Ann’s House, Ann’s House of Nuts and Nature’s Harvest brands, according to the story. The company also provides private-label nuts for wholesale clubs and other outlets, including Costco Wholesale Corp. and Wal-Mart Stores Inc.

Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal could close by the end of the month, Buyouts said.

The sale would be the first exit for Olympus, since May 2007 when the PE shop sold Talbot Holdings Ltd., a Bermuda-based insurance company (they did compete a $110 million recap of K-Mac Enterprises in 2009) <!– /* Font Definitions */ @font-face {font-family:”Cambria Math”; panose-1:2 4 5 3 5 4 6 3 2 4; mso-font-alt:”Calisto MT”; mso-font-charset:0; mso-generic-font-family:roman; mso-font-pitch:variable; mso-font-signature:-1610611985 1107304683 0 0 159 0;} @font-face {font-family:Calibri; panose-1:2 15 5 2 2 2 4 3 2 4; mso-font-alt:”Century Gothic”; mso-font-charset:0; mso-generic-font-family:swiss; mso-font-pitch:variable; mso-font-signature:-1610611985 1073750139 0 0 159 0;} /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-unhide:no; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:””; margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:”Times New Roman”,”serif”; mso-fareast-font-family:Calibri; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-latin;} .MsoChpDefault {mso-style-type:export-only; mso-default-props:yes; font-size:10.0pt; mso-ansi-font-size:10.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;} @page WordSection1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.0in 1.0in 1.0in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.WordSection1 {page:WordSection1;} –> . Olympus, since that time, has been busy buying (they invested in five companies, the story says).

For Gryphon, the buy would be its first acquisition since September 2008, when it recapped two outsourcers of pharmaceutical services, Synteract Inc. and Vince & Associates Clinical Research.
