Apollo’s Black has some regrets taking firm public: MarketWatch

Leon Black, chairman and CEO of Apollo Global Management, said he has some regrets about taking the buyout shop public eight years ago, according to MarketWatch. “Regrets? Absolutely. The public market doesn’t understand creatures like us very well,” the story quotes Black saying during the Bloomberg Invest Conference in New York. Apollo’s stock has risen 69.4 percent, while the S&P 500 index has jumped 255 percent since March 2011, MarketWatch said, citing FactSet data.
