The Company
Headquartered in Westmont, IL, ASICO is a provider of precision ophthalmic surgical instruments. The company specializes in partnering with ophthalmic surgeons for the design and development of new products and technologies.

The Deal
Katena Products, a portfolio company of Audax Private Equity (“Audax”), has completed the acquisition of ASICO. The acquisition of ASICO will strengthen Katena’s presence in the precision ophthalmic instrument market, both domestically and abroad, and represents the company’s eighth acquisition since Audax’ investment.

The Thesis
In June 2015, Audax partnered with Katena Products, a New Jersey based provider of precision ophthalmic instruments, biologics, and devices to hospitals, surgical centers, and ophthalmic and optometric offices. Audax will continue to work with the Katena management team to further the company’s track record of organic growth and help accelerate its Buy & Build strategy to expand into new products and geographies.
