Authentic Brands, Simon Property and Brookfield in talks to buy J.C. Penney: Bloomberg

Authentic Brands LLC, Simon Property Group Inc and Brookfield Property Partners are in talks to buy bankrupt retailer J.C. Penney, reported Bloomberg. The media outlet noted that “the discussions are still fluid and may ultimately end without a deal.” Authentic Brands is backed by General Atlantic, Lion Capital, and Leonard Green & Partners.
