According to an announcement on its site, UK private equity firm YFM Equity Partners has named Colin Granger as an investment director. In his new position, Granger will focusing on sourcing and closing new deals throughout the South of England.  Previously, Granger worked at Milestone Capital where he concentrated on the UK lower mid-market.
Internet Brands, which is backed by KKR, has acquired ACE Tech Inc, a provider of lead management programs and integrated marketing services for car dealers. No financial terms were disclosed. Quarton International advised ACE on the transaction.
Sweetwater Capital Partners, a new private equity firm, has launched. James Gamett, a former partner and head of secondaries at StepStone Group as well as a founder of Madison Creek Partners, will serve as SWCP's managing partner. Joining him are Brooks Lindberg as managing director; Joseph Siletto as managing director; Ron Heinz as principal; and Cameron Rondo as senior associate. The firm will focus mostly on the U.S.
Veritas Financial Partners has provided undisclosed financing to Archie Comic Publications Inc. According to the company, the capital will be used to support the company’s current publishing operations as well as for expansion and diversification into various media segments. Headquartered in Pelham, New York, Archie Comics is a comic book publisher that's renowned for a gallery of iconic characters that include Archie, Jughead, Betty and Veronica.
Battery Ventures has closed its previously announced buy of Goldleaf Enterprise Payments Inc, which includes the Alogent product line. The seller was Jack Henry & Associates. No financial terms were disclosed. In conjunction with the acquisition, Dede Wakefield, the ex-chief financial officer for GT Nexus, has been named Alogent's chief executive while Battery's Russell Fleischer and Jordan Welu have been added to Alogent's board. Based in Norcross, Georgia, Alogent is a provider of deposit automation solutions for financial institutions.
Global law firm Orrick has hired Betty L. Louie for its M&A and private equity practice in Rome. In her new role, Louie will focus on cross-border M&A and represent Chinese companies in investments in Italy and Europe. Previously, she worked at DLA Piper.

Liqui-Box, a portfolio company of Olympus Partners, has agreed to acquire Maverick's engineering and flexible operations. No financial terms were disclosed. Based in Cape Town, South Africa, Maverick Engineering is provider of bag-in-box making equipment while Maverick Flexibles is a producer of specialty films and laminates for the food and beverage sectors.
Boston and San Francisco-based mid-market private equity firm Parthenon Capital Partners has raised a hard cap of $1 billion for its fifth fund, beating its initial target of $850 million. Ropes & Gray LLP served as counsel to PCP Fund V.
