Lincoln advised UMS United Medical Systems International AG on the transaction. Based in Westborough, Mass., UMS is a provider of medical technologies and solutions to hospitals and surgery centers in the U.S., Canada and South America.
Goldman Sachs has named Mark A. Flaherty and Mark O. Winkelman to its board of directors. The appointments became effective December 18. Flaherty is retired from Wellington Management where he most recently served as vice chairman while Winkelman is a former operating partner at J.C. Flowers & Co. and has held various positions at Goldman Sachs.
Fulcrum has raised C$180 million for its fifth private equity fund. The target is C$300. Fulcrum Capital Partners V is backed by nine LPs and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2015. The pool is focused on investing in lower middle-market Canadian firms.
Magnum Semiconductor has received $36 million in debt financing from Capital IP Investment Partners. According to the firm, the capital will be used to pay down existing debt, provide working capital and for investments. Based in Silicon Valley, Magnum is a provider of video compression and processing solutions for the video broadcast networking sector.

In addition to the financing, Eric Jensen, a principal at NewSpring, has joined EnterpriseDB's board of directors. Based in Bedford, Mass., EnterpriseDP is a provider of provider of Postgres software and services.
BV Investment Partners has made an undisclosed investment in Plasco ID. The transaction was done in partnership with Plasco's leadership team. Based in Miami and Minnesota, Plasco is a provider of ID solutions.
