Themis said Sept. 18 that it raised 40 million euros ($44 million) in a Series D round of funding co-led by new investors, Farallon Capital and Hadean Ventures. MSD (tradename of Merck & Co Inc, Kenilworth NJ USA) and Adjuvant Capital, as well as current investors Global Health Investment Fund, aws Gruenderfonds, Omnes Capital, Ventech and Wellington Partners Life Sciences, also participated. Themis develops immunomodulation therapies for infectious diseases and cancer.
AnaCap Financial Partners said Sept. 18 that its fourth Credit Opportunities fund closed on 1 billion euros ($1.1 billion). AnaCap Credit Opportunities IV was oversubscribed and was about 70 percent larger than its predecessor.
Scintil Photonics said Sept. 18 that its first round of funding raised 4 million euros ($4.4 million) led by Supernova Invest, Innovacom and Bpifrance. Participating in the round were Credit Agricole Alpes Développement and endowment Fund Foreis. Scintil Photonics, of Grenoble, France, develops silicon photonic fully integrated circuits including laser integration.

Blackstone Group is buying Promontory Interfinancial Network for $2.5 billion, sources told Buyouts. Launched in 2002, Promontory provides technology-based services to banks to help them retain large-dollar relationships. The Arlington, Virginia, fintech supplies balance sheet management as well as deposit allocation services to 3,000 financial institutions, the company’s website said. Intermediate Capital Group said Sept. 17 that has appointed Alan Jones as a senior managing director with responsibility for building its private equity business in North America. Jones was most recently a vice chairman of private credit & equity at Morgan Stanley.
WeWork has opted to postpone its much anticipated IPO after struggling to raise investor interest, according to press reports. WeWork had expected to launch the roadshow for its IPO on Monday, and to price and list its shares next week, the Financial Times reported. WeWork now plans to complete the offering by year-end, the story said.
Genstar Capital and Lovell Minnick Partners are selling a stake in Mercer Advisors to Oak Hill Capital via a recap. Financial terms weren’t announced. Genstar remains an investor. Mercer, of Denver, is an independent wealth manager in the U.S., serving clients with a focus on the mass affluent and high net-worth markets.
Endeavor, the talent agency backed by Silver Lake, is targeting an $8 billion valuation in an upcoming IPO, the Financial Times is reporting. Endeavor, which own William Morris Agency and IMG, could raise as much as $712 million, the story said.
