Balbec Capital LP has named Andrew P. Dempsey as a managing director and head of the firm’s capital formation group. Previously, he was a managing director at Easterly Capital.
NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Balbec Capital LP, a global private investment firm (“Balbec”), is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew P. Dempsey as a Managing Director and head of Balbec’s Capital Formation Group.
Dempsey joins Balbec with over sixteen years of capital-raising experience across various products and structures including private equity, credit, real estate and hedge funds. At Balbec, Dempsey will lead the expansion of Balbec’s global investor base as well as develop new products and distribution channels.

Dempsey most recently was a Managing Director at Easterly Capital, responsible for capital formation and business development. Prior to Easterly, Dempsey spent nine years at Fortress Investment Group, ultimately as Chief Operating Officer of the Permanent Capital Business Group and a member of Fortress’s Management Committee. Dempsey’s prior roles at Fortress include Global Head of Hedge Fund Marketing and Investor Relations.
A native of Huntington Beach, California, Dempsey received a B.B.A. degree in Economics and Finance with a second major in Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame, where he was a member of the varsity football team.
