BB&T Capital rebrands as Five Points Capital

BB&T Capital Partners said in an email Tuesday that it is has rebranded as Five Points Capital. Winston-Salem, North Carolina-based Five Points invests in the lower middle market in the following strategies: equity, mezzanine and small market buyout fund-of-funds.

You will soon receive an email with our announcement that BB&T Capital Partners has been rebranded as Five Points Capital and we wanted to provide you with a quick heads-up and further clarification.

First and foremost, this is a rebrand effort and not a spinout from BB&T.  As you may know, the manager of the BB&T Capital Partners funds has always been independent of BB&T. There is no change in the ownership structure of our firm and Five Points Capital will continue to manage the BB&T Capital Partners Funds and the Five Points Funds.

We believe that the Five Points Capital rebrand better reflects our broader investment platform and investor base, which has evolved since our founding in 1997, to include BB&T along with other institutional and private capital investors.
