Berkshire Partners Promotes Josh Lutzker

Berkshire Partners has promoted Joshua Lutzker to managing director. He joined the firm in 1998 as an associate, and rejoined in 2002 after graduating from Harvard Business School.


Berkshire Partners LLC, a Boston-based private equity firm, today announced that Joshua A. Lutzker was appointed a Managing Director effective January 1, 2010. He joins the 11 current Managing Directors of Berkshire in managing the firm and its affiliated investment funds.

Mr. Lutzker originally joined Berkshire Partners in 1998 as an Associate and returned to Berkshire in 2002 after graduating from business school. He has worked closely with a number of Berkshire’s consumer products and retailing companies. Mr. Lutzker started his career as an associate consultant at Bain & Company. He received a B.A. from Duke University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Berkshire’s investment staff is comprised of 45 people who have a broad range of backgrounds and experiences, including operations, consulting and finance. The original team, which came together in the early 1980s, has expanded significantly as the Firm’s capital base and investment scope have grown.
