Tricor-Backed BFG Acquires Commerce Assets

BFG Supply, Co., a Burton, Ohio-based portfolio company of Canadian mid-market buyout firm Tricor Pacific Capital, has acquired certain assets of Commerce Corp. In connection with the transaction, BFG has expanded its operating footprint with the addition of Commerce’s former Grand Rapids, Michigan facility, as well as the hiring of 50 employees.

acquired certain assets of Commerce Corporation, significantly expanding its
presence in the lawn and garden distribution market. In connection with the
transaction, BFG has expanded its operating footprint with the addition of
Commerce’s former Grand Rapids, Michigan facility, as well as the hiring of 50
key employees. With over 200,000 square feet of warehouse space, the Grand
Rapids facility significantly augments BFG’s existing network of 12 distribution
centers. The investment in the facility, as well as the addition of new product
lines and a team of highly experienced employees, including 19 new sales
professionals, transforms BFG into a national leader in lawn and garden
supplies.
