UK mid-market private equity firm Bowmark Capital has made two new hires. The expansion of its teams follows a month which has seen higher than average people movement between buyout firms in the UK.
In addition to Bowmark’s new appointments, rival firms Lyceum Capital, Inflexion Private Equity and Phoenix Equity Partners have all made senior hires in the last four weeks.
The increase in hiring, with some movement between rival firms – Julian Masters joins Bowmark from European Capital, and Inflexion appointed Richard Swann from LDC – suggests that the slow down in investment activity has given buyout firms some breathing space to reshape, and expand their teams.
Masters joins Bowmark as a partner. Before working at European Capital, where he was a founder member of the UK buyout team, he was a director at Credit Suisse’s private equity arm, DLJ Merchant Banking.
Tom Shelford has been appointed investment director at Bowmark Capital. He was formerly at Nomura Private Equity where he was an associate focusing on mid-market investments in the UK business services sector.
