Canadian pension fund manager the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec has invested $42 million in the Parc des Moulins wind energy project operated by Invenergy Wind LLC. The project is a 135.7 MW wind farm that has been operational since December. It covers three Québec municipalities: Thetford Mines, Kinnear’s Mills and Saint-Jean-de-Brébeuf. This latest investment builds on the Caisse de dépôt’s US$500 million acquisition early last year of a stake in a portfolio of wind farms in Canada and the United States managed by the Chicago-based Invenergy.
