PRESS RELEASE

The Cambian Group, one of the UK’s leading providers of specialist care, rehabilitation and education services for children and adults with complex needs, has announced the acquisition of Devon, U.K. based Signpost Children’s Services.

Signpost is a specialist provider of residential care for deaf children and young adults with additional complex needs. The company delivers care to some of the most complex cases in the UK in a highly specialist care environment including dedicated British Sign Language trained staff who maintain a fully-signing environment throughout.

This acquisition further extends The Cambian Group’s range of specialist care services for individuals with complex needs. In line with The Cambian Group’s commitment to providing the best facilities for children in their care, each Signpost home is designed to ultimately encourage residents to manage their own behaviours, feel more confident and to prepare them for a more independent life. This includes access to specialist facilities such as an on-site agricultural small-holding involving young people in animal husbandry, helping to build confidence and daily living skills.

Mike McQuaid, Group Chief Operating Officer, The Cambian Group said: ‘This is a very exciting time for The Cambian Group – we will look to build on the outstanding work being carried out by the Signpost team and translate these capabilities where applicable across the wider Cambian Group. The Cambian Group remains committed to ensuring every young person in our care achieves their personal best.’

Cambian Signpost will continue to provide highly specialist care for these children with complex needs, drawing on the additional capabilities of The Cambian Group’s experience in social care, special education and mental health.

The transaction was funded by capital from GI Partners, based in London.
