


Former Senate majority leader William Frist has joined Carrick Capital Partners as a special advisor.
Currently, Frist is a chairman of healthcare investment firm Cressey & Company‘s board. He is also an adjunct professor of cardiac surgery at Vanderbilt University and a clinical professor of surgery at Meharry Medical College.
Frist served in the Senate for 12 years, representing Tennessee. There he was responsible for writing health legislation while serving on both the health and finance committees.
From 2003 until his retirement in 2007, Frist was Senate majority leader.
Frist is the son of Thomas F. Frist  Sr., who co-founded in 1968 Hospital Corporation of America, a Nashville-based operator of heathcare facilities. HCA is backed by KKR and Bain Capital.
