Centerfield Capital backs Edgewater Capital buy of Pure Wafer

Centerfield Capital Partners said Oct. 22 that it is supporting the acquisition of Pure Wafer by Edgewater Capital Partners. It is providing subordinated debt and an equity co-investment. Pure Wafer, of San Jose, provides silicon wafer reclaim services and also supplies virgin silicon wafers, specialty thin film deposition products, and silicon parts and services.

Centerfield Capital Partners (“Centerfield”) is pleased to announce its investment in Pure Wafer. Headquartered in San Jose, CA, Pure Wafer is the largest U.S.-based provider of silicon wafer reclaim services and also supplies virgin silicon wafers, specialty thin film deposition products, and silicon parts and services. Centerfield supported the acquisition of the company by Edgewater Capital Partners, providing subordinated debt and an equity co-investment to finance the transaction.

Pure Wafer was founded in 2008 as Wafer Reclaim Services (“WRS”). WRS acquired Pure Wafer, Inc. in 2015, adopting the Pure Wafer name. Pure Wafer possesses a unique processing capability which reclaims silicon wafers to the highest quality specifications in the U.S. market. Pure Wafer operates from two manufacturing facilities in San Jose, CA and Prescott, AZ, strategically located near its primary customers. The company also has several sales offices (domestic and international) near the world’s largest microchip manufacturers.
