LONDON (Reuters) – Private equity firm Cinven is teaming up with retail executive Rob Templeman to consider a 500 million pound ($793.8 million) bid for UK furniture retailer DFS, the Daily Telegraph reported on Friday without citing sources.
A spokesman for Cinven could not be reached for comment.
Templeman is chief executive of retailer Debenhams Plc (DEB.L) and a bid for DFS could pit him against Debenham’s Chairman John Lovering. Lovering was last month reported to be teaming up with rival buyout firm Permira to launch a bid for DFS, according to the Sunday Times.
