Clearview Capital’s Battenfeld buys BOGgear

Battenfeld Technologies, a portfolio company of Clearview Capital, has acquired BOGgear. The sellers were BOGgear’s founders Kim and Robyn Hicks. No financial terms were disclosed. Based in Fredericksburg, Texas, BOGgear is a maker of shooting sticks and related accessories for use in hunting, photography and videography.


Old Greenwich, CT, February 5, 2014 – Clearview Capital Fund II, LP today announced that its portfolio company, Battenfeld Technologies, Inc. (“Battenfeld” or the “Company”), has acquired BOGgear from its founders, Kim and Robyn Hicks.
Headquartered in Fredericksburg, TX, BOGgear has been a leading manufacturer of high-quality shooting sticks and related accessories for use in hunting, photography and videography since 2006. Jim Gianladis, Battenfeld’s VP of Products and Marketing, commented, “We are extremely excited about the addition of BOGgear to Battenfeld. The closing of the BOGgear transaction represents Battenfeld’s second add-on acquisition in nine months. “The BOGgear acquisition is highly representative of the types of transactions we’re seeking for Battenfeld,” stated Calvin Neider, Managing Partner of Clearview. “BOGgear was able to develop a strong brand name in a niche area of the market, and we believe that Battenfeld’s strength in developing new and innovative products will help to further accelerate BOGgear’s growth moving forward. Based in Columbia, MO, Battenfeld is a leading manufacturer of shooting, reloading, gunsmithing and gun cleaning supplies. The Company manufactures accessories under several popular brands, including: Caldwell Shooting Supplies, Wheeler Engineering, Tipton Gun Cleaning Supplies, Lockdown Vault Accessories, Frankford Arsenal and Non-Typical Wildlife Solutions.
