Rob Day has become one of very few venture capitalists who will indirectly work for other venture capitalists. Maybe the only one, but such a declaration would be presumptuous.
Day is the @Ventures principal who has written the Cleantech Investing blog for the past two and a half years (he was with Expansion Capital Partners back then). The blog covers all sorts of cleantech news, with a particular emphasis on VC fundings and investment trends.
Today, he announced that the blog has been scooped up by Greentech Media Inc., a cleantech content portal that recently raised $1 million in seed funding from Lightspeed Capital Partners and Northpoint Private Equity. Day will continue blogging under the Greentech umbrella, which is good news for those of us who have come to rely on his insights. He also will sit on its advisory board.
No terms of the deal were disclosed, although it obviously wasn’t quite lucrative enough for Day to give up his day job with @Ventures. Nonetheless: Congrats Rob!
