David Duval joins Sandy Cove Advisors, a multi-family office providing wealth management services, as a partner, the firm announced. Most recently, he was general partner and chief operating officer of Castile Ventures, a leading early-stage technology venture capital firm. Before that, he was managing director of boutique investment bank Volpe Brown Whelan (VBW) and co-founded Bedrock Capital Partners.
Sandy Cove Advisors LLC, a multi-family office catering to the wealth management needs of high-net-worth individuals and families, has announced the appointment of David Duval as partner. Mr. Duval brings more than 30 years of financial, administrative and investment management experience to this role and will work with clients to develop customized solutions relating to the creation, management, preservation and transfer of wealth. He will also play a key role in the strategic management of the firm, which has offices in Hingham and Boston, Mass., with plans for expansion, including a satellite office in Quechee, Vt.

During his 35-year career, Mr. Duval has worked closely with business owners, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and their advisors on a wide variety of business and personal financial matters. Prior to joining Sandy Cove Advisors, he was general partner and chief operating officer of Castile Ventures, a leading early-stage technology venture capital firm. Before that, he was managing director of boutique investment bank Volpe Brown Whelan (VBW) and co-founded Bedrock Capital Partners, VBW’s highly successful $120 million early-stage venture capital affiliate. Earlier in his career, he was partner and chief financial officer of Highland Capital Partners, a large, highly-regarded venture capital firm and the executive vice president and CFO of a large family-owned business. He is also an alumnus of the Boston office of Ernst & Young.

Mr. Duval earned his MBA at Babson College and his BS in Accounting at Bentley University. He holds CPA, PFS and CFP(R) credentials. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association, the Massachusetts Society of CPA’s and the AICPA and its Personal Financial Planning division. Additionally, Mr. Duval is the treasurer of Charles River Country Club and serves on the advisory board of the Stephen D. Cutler Center for Investments and Finance at Babson College. He has also been active in various roles at his children’s schools; Colorado College, Fairfield University, Texas Christian University and Thayer Academy. Mr. Duval and his family reside in the Marina Bay neighborhood of Quincy and Quechee, Vt.
