PRESS RELEASE
The General Atlantic team is pleased to share our Fall Newsletter, highlighting our recent investment activity, firm updates, and key portfolio developments.
The current market presents compelling opportunities for General Atlantic and our global growth equity investment strategy. We are carefully navigating a heightened global valuation environment by partnering with exceptional entrepreneurs who have differentiated business models, while creating and capitalizing on liquidity opportunities within the portfolio.
Year-to-date, we have invested more than $3.5 billion of capital in a number of new and existing portfolio companies, balanced across our four core sectors and five regions.
We have been particularly active in China, investing in rapidly scaling companies that leverage technology, as well as in Consumer and Healthcare, identifying innovative companies that capitalize on secular growth. Two of our portfolio companies have recently completed their initial public offerings: Adyen, which listed on Euronext Amsterdam on June 13; and Arco, which listed on the NASDAQ on June 26. We are driving a significant pipeline of public and private exit activity to manage risk and crystallize investment gains, while also focusing on building and delivering value within our global portfolio.
We have appointed several new senior hires who will deepen our expertise across functions, including Tanzeen Syed as a Managing Director focusing on the firm’s Technology sector, Mark Garrett as a Special Advisor, Mary Armstrong as Global Head of Marketing and Communications, and Annie Paydar as Global Head of Human Capital. We also welcomed two new Principals to the firm: Andrea Joseph as a Principal in Capital Partnering and Lefei Sun as a Principal and Head of Healthcare for China. Lastly, we welcomed several Vice Presidents: Jessie Cai, Zuhair Khan, Simon Liu, and Ivy Tang, who also serves as Associate General Counsel and Head of Legal in the Greater China and Southeast Asia region.
As we continue to build our global team and platform, we are pleased to share that Graves Tompkins, Managing Director and Global Head of Capital Partnering, has also assumed oversight of Human Resources, Marketing and Communications, Research, and General Atlantic Foundation activities.
Finally, Mark Dzialga recently announced his retirement from General Atlantic. Over the past 20 years, Mark has been a valued partner and led many important initiatives at the firm. We are grateful to Mark for his many contributions over the past two decades, and we wish him and his family all the best in the years ahead.
We appreciate your continued partnership and support and look forward to being in touch this fall.
