Energy Capital Partners, a private equity firm focused on North America’s energy infrastructure, has hired Kevin Clayton as a partner and head of investor relations.
Clayton founded Oaktree Capital‘s marketing and client relations department in 1995 when the firm launched. At Oaktree, Clayton was a member of the board of directors and served as a supervising principal at OCM, Oaktree’s broker/deal, until he left the firm in 2014.
Recently, Clayton was interim president of Lehigh University from 2014 to 2015. Currently, he is chair of the school’s board of trustees.
Prior to Oaktree, Clayton worked at Trust Company of the West where he worked in the marketing and client relations area for five years.
With offices in Short Hills, New Jersey, New York City, Houston and San Diego, Energy Capital Partners has more than $19 billion in capital commitments.
