Star Avenue Capital, the growth equity firm formed by Irving Place Capital and Creative Artists Agency, has added Craig Elson as a managing director. Elson’s experience includes working with Banc of America Capital Investors, the predecessor to Ridgemont Equity Partners, and the Turner Broadcasting System.
NEW YORK – April 12, 2011 – Star Avenue Capital, LLC (“Star Avenue”), a growth equity firm formed in partnership with private equity firm Irving Place Capital (“IPC”) and entertainment and sports agency Creative Artists Agency (“CAA”), announced today that Craig Elson has joined as a Managing Director.

Mr. Elson brings over a decade of private equity investing experience, most recently as a Partner and Managing Director of Banc of America Capital Investors (“BACI”), the predecessor to Ridgemont Equity Partners. While at BACI, he led or co-led growth equity investments totaling more than $300 million of equity capital. Prior to joining BACI in 1998, he worked with Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. in both managerial and sales roles from 1990 to 1996.
Mr. Elson is a graduate of Harvard Business School and received his B.A. degree from Duke University.
