Exotic Automation buys Sidener

Exotic Automation & Supply has acquired Noblesville, Indiana-based Sidener Engineering, a provider of safety products for the foundry industry. No financial terms were disclosed. Amherst Partners provided financial advice to Exotic Automation on the transaction.

Exotic Automation & Supply, headquartered in Farmington Hills, Michigan, is a leading supplier of fluid power products, with full service distribution centers located throughout Michigan. About Sidener Engineering
Noblesville, Indiana-based Sidener Engineering was founded in 1981. A full-line distributor for fluid power, pneumatic, and engineered safety products, it also specializes in unique safety products for the foundry industry. Sidener has service centers located throughout Indiana, as well as in Louisville, Kentucky.

About the Transaction
Exotic Automation’s management engaged Amherst to assist in the evaluation of Sidener Engineering as an acquisition target in a transaction that ultimately joined two well-established, reputable leading fluid power suppliers and positioned the combined companies for fast-track growth in the fluid power, hydraulic, pneumatic, safety, and automation markets. Amherst’s deep industry expertise and substantial buy-side experience allowed the team to engage in an efficient, timely review of the target’s financial and operational information and provided critical support for the analysis of deal economics and structure.
