FleetPride, an independent aftermarket distributor of heavy-duty truck and trailer parts, has acquired E.H. Burrell Co., a wholesale distributor of parts and accessories for commercial trucks and heavy equipment. No financial terms were disclosed. FleetPride is owned by Investocrp, Banc of America Capital Investors and company management. E.H. Burrell Co. was advised by The March Group.
The March Group, a leading private mergers and acquisitions firm specializing in the sale of middle-market businesses, today released details regarding the acquisition of its client E.H. Burrell Co. Inc. by FleetPride Inc., the largest independent aftermarket distributor of heavy-duty truck and trailer parts in the United States.
E.H. Burrell is a wholesale distributor of parts and accessories for commercial trucks and heavy equipment that serves 1,000 commercial and industrial accounts throughout western Oregon and southwestern Washington State. Its acquisition by FleetPride is indicative of the expected increase in acquisition activity within the sector, and the unique role The March Group can play in facilitating such M&A transactions.
“The commercial truck and trailer parts industry is currently characterized by intense buyer interest. A number of leading players, including several large strategically-aligned firms, a handful of private equity groups, and a dozen or so local players, are all looking to grow,” Kiril Logvinoff, vice president of The March Group, said. “Coupled with the substantial capital available to the buyers, this interest will dramatically reshape the industry’s dynamic within the next three years.”
The major players are positioning themselves to take maximum advantage of the coming surge in infrastructure spending, he explained.
“We are approaching a singular moment in the sector’s development. Heightened interest in growth through acquisition offers the truck and trailer parts distributor a very rare opportunity,” Kiril went on to say. “If you own such a business and have considered selling, the time to act is now.”
By bringing together the two companies, The March Group enabled Texas-based FleetPride to add three strategic locations to their large base of operations: Salem, Portland and Eugene, Oregon.
The March Group completed the transaction for E.H. Burrell in seven months.
