Candover, a pan-European buyout house, has appointed Fredrik Arp as a senior advisor, focusing on the Nordic region.
Arp will also advise Candover on existing and potential investments in the European industrials sector. He was most recently chief executive and president of the Volvo Car Corporation.
Prior to that, Arp held CEO positions at Trelleborg, PLM, Trelleborg Industrier and Boliden Kemi. He has also been involved with Candover’s Nordic portfolio since 2004, initially as chairman of now exited branded goods business Thule, acquired by Nordic Capital in 2007, and chairman of bed manufacturer Hilding Anders since 2007.
Candover’s investments in the Nordic region comprise Sweden’s Thule; oilfield services provider Vetco Aibel, sold to Ferd Private Equity in 2007; GET, formerly UPC Norway, a cable operator sold to Quadrangle Capital and GS Capital Partners in 2007; and Hilding Anders.
