San Francisco-based Genstar Capital has promoted Roman Margolin and Eli Weiss to vice presidents at the firm. Both were previously senior associates. Genstar Capital focuses on middle-market private equity deals in life sciences, healthcare, financial services, software, and industrial technology.

Genstar Capital, LLC, a middle market private equity firm that focuses on investments in selected segments of the life sciences, healthcare, financial services, software, and industrial technology industries, today announced the promotions of Roman A. Margolin and Eli P. Weiss as vice presidents of the firm. Both were previously senior associates of the firm.

Prior to joining Genstar, Mr. Margolin was an Associate with Willis Stein & Partners, where he focused on investments in education, media, and healthcare sectors. Previously, he was an Analyst in the investment banking group of J.P. Morgan in Chicago. He earned an MBA from Stanford University and received a BA in Economics (summa cum laude) from Case Western Reserve University. Mr. Margolin serves on the boards of Genstar portfolio companies Granite Global Solutions, Netsmart Technologies and PRA International.
Prior to joining Genstar, Mr. Weiss was an Associate at Hellman & Friedman LLC. Previously, he worked for Greenhill & Co. in New York as an Analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions, Restructuring and Principal Investing groups. He earned an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Mr. Weiss serves on the board of Genstar portfolio company Evolution Benefits.
