Guggenheim Partners Investment Management LLC has closed its private debt fund at a hard cap of $2 billion, beating its initial $1.5 billion target. The fund will focus on middle-market companies. According to a source familiar with the transaction, the fund had about 50 investors while Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC was the placement agent.

In late 2017, Guggenheim Partners Investment Management, LLC (GPIM) held the final close for its latest private fund structure focused on investing in private debt. The structure achieved its hard cap of $2 billion in capital commitments, exceeding the $1.5 billion initial target. The structure leverages GPIM’s corporate credit platform to source and lead secured debt investments in middle market companies in both sponsored and non-sponsored transactions. Zach Warren and Kevin Gundersen are portfolio managers for the fund structure.
